BRASILIA, April 2 (Xinhua) -- Brazilian President Luiz Inacio Lula da Silva told his ministers on Monday to act with solidarity and not to criticize each other in public.
At the first cabinet meeting since a reshuffle late last month, Lula asked his ministers to work together and respect each other, according to Public Relations Secretary Franklin Martins.
Lula also told the ministers to mind their budgets because "control is sacred and inflation affects the poorest worst."
He said he planned to serve out his four-year term due in 2010 and would not leave debts for his successor.
The president said he was willing to send a proposal to the Congress, asking lawmakers to draw up a plan for 2022 when Brazil celebrates its 200 anniversary of independence, in a bid to stimulate a national debate about Brazil's future.
