TEHRAN, April 1 (Xinhua) -- Iran's state-run Arabic
satellite television Al-Alam said on Sunday that it will soon air "confessions"
of two detained British naval servicemen.
Al-Alam said it would broadcast
soon "some footage of confessions of two
British soldiers about being arrested in Iranian waters."
On Friday, Al-Alam showed a footage of a male British
naval serviceman, Nathan Thomas Summers, confessing to entering Iran "without
permission."
On Wednesday, the same Iranian state-run television
broadcasted for the first time a video footage of the recently detained British
sailors, including Faye Turney, the only female among the15 British naval
personnel seized by Iranian forces.
Turney was shown on the television admitting "illegal
entry" into Iranian waters.
The 15 British naval personnel were seized on March
23 by Iranian forces when they were patrolling off the Iraqi borders. Iran has
insisted that the British boats illegally entered its territorial waters. But
Britain said its soldiers were in Iraqi territorial waters.
Meanwhile, earlier on Sunday, about 200 students
staged a rally outside the British Embassy in central Tehran, protesting against
British naval servicemen's "illegal entry" into Iranian waters.
The students threw rocks and firecrackers at the
British embassy. But dozens of anti-riot police prevented them from entering the
embassy compound, witnesses said.
Britain's Foreign Office confirmed Sunday's protest
around its embassy in Tehran, but insisted that there was no damage or injuries
during the incident.
