HANGZHOU, March 31 (Xinhua) -- The 57 people who were poisoned at breakfast on Thursday morning in east China have been out of danger, doctors with a local hospital said Saturday.
The 57 victims felt nauseous and stomachache after eating breakfast in a restaurant in the Xixi Town of Yongkang City, Zhejiang Province. They were hospitalized immediately and a panel of experts was sent to the hospital at once.
All the people, including some pupils, are now out of danger, and the most seriously poisoned one is in a stable condition. But They still need to stay in hospital for several days, doctors said.
Rat poison was found in the food that the victims had for breakfast and the restaurant owners are under investigation, said the local police, who believe someone put the poison deliberately into the food.
