GAZA, March 29 (Xinhua) -- The Islamic Jihad (Holy War) said on Thursday that the Arab performance in Riyadh summit encourages Israel to continue aggression against the Palestinian people.
"The Israeli occupation will reward the conferees in Riyadh with a wide offensive against Gaza Strip and some parts of the West Bank," said Khaled al-Batsh, a senior Islamic Jihad official.
The Riyadh summit reaffirmed commitment to the Arab peace initiative Wednesday which calls for Israeli withdrawal to allow a Palestinian statehood in the 1967 territories in return for full Arab ties with the Jewish state.
The Arab also asked Israel for the return of Palestinian refugees. However, Israel rejected the Arab offer unless it drops the Palestinian refugees' right of return.
"Israel would like the Arabs to make more concessions," said al-Batsh, "the Arab stance was weak, vague and repetitive."
Leaders or representatives from 22 member states of the Arab League (AL), except Libya, are meeting in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia for the 19th AL summit on March 28 and 29.
