WASHINGTON, March 26 (Xinhua) -- Swiss Roger Federer won four ATP awards on Monday, only one for his tennis.
Federer received the Arthur Ashe Humanitarian Award for his charity and volunteer work in 2006. He received the Stefan Edberg Sportsmanship Award, chosen by players, and was voted the fans' favorite for the fourth consecutive year.
For the third year in a row, Federer was chosen player of the year. He won three Grand Slam titles in 2006 and has been ranked No. 1 for the past 164 weeks.
Novak Djokovic of Serbia was voted most improved player, Benjamin Becker of Germany was chosen newcomer of the year, and Mardy Fish of the United States was selected comeback player of the year.
U.S. twins Bob and Mike Bryan were chosen doubles team of the year and received the fans' favorite doubles award.
