BEIJING, March 26 (Xinhua) -- A reception was held in Beijing Monday evening to mark the 36th anniversary of the National and Independence Day of Bangladesh.

    Addressing the reception, Ashfaqur Rahman, ambassador of Bangladesh to China, thanked the continuous support of the Chinese government and people and praised China's efforts in advancing a harmonious world.

    He expressed the belief that the two countries would expand bilateral cooperation for the benefits of their peoples on the basis of friendly ties.

    More than 500 guests, including diplomatic enjoys of related countries, as well as officials from the Chinese Foreign Ministry, attended the reception.
