BEIJING, March 23 (Xinhuanet)-- Hollywood Angelina Jolie and her newly adopted Vietnamese son left Hanoi in a private jet with her entourage on Wednesday.

Jolie, 31, flew to Vietnam earlier this week to adopt 3-year-old Pax Thien, who was issued an American passport and an immigration visa Wednesday to head for his new home in Los Angeles.

The Oscar-winning actress has a 5-year-old son, Maddox, and 2-year-old daughter, Zahara, both of whom were adopted. She gave birth last year to daughter Shiloh, who was fathered by Brand Pitt.

The boy was abandoned at a local hospital at birth and was then cared for at the Tam Binh orphanage in Ho Chi Minh City. On Monday, Jolie completed all the formalities when she visited U.S. Embassy for concluding the paperwork for the adoption.

Jolie has told People magazine that her newly-adopted Vietnamese son is a courageous boy who is "very strong" to be facing a future in a new country with a new family and language to learn.

"You can imagine what courage it takes to be in all new surroundings with new people and a new language," Jolie said in an issue that hits newsstands April 2. "He is very strong."

"It will take him a while to realize he has a family; that his new life is permanent and it won't keep changing."

Meanwhile Jolie, whose movie roles range from action hero Lara Croft in the "Tomb Raider" movies to a mental patient in "Girl, Interrupted," which won her the Oscar for supporting actress, said she was content to stay at home and tend to her growing brood.

"I have four children now, and caring for them is the most important thing for me at the moment. I am very happy to be their mother," she said.
