BEIJING, March 21 (Xinhua) -- Chinese shares opened higher on Wednesday. The benchmark Shanghai Composite Index opened at 3,042.10 points, up by 9.9 points, or 0.33 percent.

    The index, which tracks both yuan-denominated A shares and hard-currency B shares traded on the Shanghai Stock Exchange, closed at 3,032.2 points on Tuesday.
