Saddam's vice president to death by hanging
BAGHDAD, Feb. 12 (Xinhua) -- Iraqi High Criminal Court
sentenced Taha Yassin Ramadan, vice president of the ousted leader Saddam
Hussin, to death by hanging for crimes against humanity for his role in the
Dujail case.
Judge Ali al-Kahachi, who replaced
Chief Judge Raouf Rashid Abdul Rahman, sentenced Ramadan to death for his role
in the killing of 148 Shiite men in the northern Iraqi town of Dujail after a
failed assassination attempt against Saddam.
"In the name of the people the court decided to sentence
the convicted, Taha Yassin Ramadan, to death by hanging for committing the crime
of willful killing as a crime against humanity," Kahachi said. Full Story

BAGHDAD, Jan. 25 (Xinhua) -- An Iraqi court adjourned
its decision on Thursday whether to accept the recommendation of an appeal court
to execute Saddam Hussein's codefendant, former vice president Taha Yassin
Ramadan, adjourned until Feb. 12.
Former Iraqi vice president to be
sentenced to death
BEIJING, Jan. 18 (Xinhuanet) -- Former Iraqi Vice
President Taha Yassin Ramadan will be sentenced to death within five weeks after
an appeals court ruled his previous sentence of life in prison was too lenient,
media reported Thursday quoting a spokesman for the Iraqi High Tribunal.
Saddam's co-defendants hanged

BAGHDAD, Jan. 15 (Xinhua) -- Saddam Hussein's two
co-defendants, his half brother and the former chief of Iraq's Revolutionary
Court, were hanged before dawn on Monday, CNN reported.
Barzan Ibrahim, Saddam's half brother, and Awad Hamed
al-Bandarhad been found guilty along with Saddam of the killing of nearly 150
Shiites in Dujail village, some 60 km north of Baghdad, following a 1982
assassination attempt on the former leader.
