U.S., ROK negotiators arrive for working group talks on nuke issue

    BEIJING, March 14 (Xinhua) -- Top U.S. and ROK negotiators to the six-party talks arrived in Beijing Wednesday to participate in the working group talks ahead of a new round six-party talks scheduled on next Monday. Negotiators will have three working group meetings starting from Thursday.

Working group on denuclearization of Korean Peninsula to hold 1st meeting

    BEIJING, March 13 (Xinhua) -- The working group on the denuclearization of the Korean Peninsula will hold its first meeting on March 17 in Beijing, said Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesman Qin Gang here on Tuesday.

    The meeting will precede the sixth round of the six-party talks which will begin on March 19, Qin said.

    Chinese Vice Foreign Minister Wu Dawei will head the working group, said Qin at a regular press conference.

IAEA chief arrives in Pyongyang for nuclear talks

    PYONGYANG, March 13 (Xinhua) -- Mohamed ElBaradei, head of International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA), arrived in Pyongyang on Tuesday to discuss and finalize the details of the Feb. 13 agreement reached at the Six-Party talks last month in Beijing.

    Upon his arrival at the airport, ElBaradei told Xinhua that he hoped "the IAEA can make progress on relationship with the DPRK (Democratic People's Republic of Korea)."

China, DPRK diplomats meet in preparation for new round six-party talks

    BEIJING, March 9 (Xinhua) -- Chinese Vice Foreign Minister Wu Dawei and Kim Kye-Gwan, top negotiator of the Democratic People's Republic of Korea (DPRK) to the six-party talks, met here Friday in preparation for the upcoming new round of six-party talks.

DPRK, Japan meetings bear no fruits due to abduction issue disagreement

    HANOI, March 8 (Xinhua) -- The Democratic People's Republic of Korea (DPRK) and Japan "reached nothing" during the talks on normalizing their diplomatic relations, which concluded here Thursday morning, due to their disagreement on the abduction issue, the DPRK chief negotiator said in a press briefing after the meeting.

DPRK, U.S. hold talks on normalizing ties

    NEW YORK, Mar. 5 (Xinhua) -- Representatives from the Democratic People's Republic of Korea (DPRK) and the United States on Monday had a working dinner at a local hotel at the start of talks aimed at implementing an agreement that includes steps toward normalizing bilateral relations.
