BEIJING, March 12 (Xinhua) -- China resolutely opposes a
tariff increase of 27.5 percent on Chinese goods, which was proposed by some
U.S. lawmakers, Commerce Minister Bo Xilai said here Monday, adding such an
increase will be destructive to healthy bilateral trade.
"If implemented, such a policy is more than protectionism
and becomes hegemonism," the minister said at a press conference on the
sidelines of the parliament's annual session.
BEIJING, March 12 (Xinhua) --
China prefers to resort to consultation for settlement of trade friction with its
trade partners rather than to the World Trade Organization (WTO), Chinese Minister
of Commerce Bo Xilai said here on Monday.
BEIJING, March 12 (Xinhua) -- The obstacles set by the
Taiwan authorities have hindered talks across the Taiwan Straits on the trade of
natural sand, a resource Taiwan's construction industry depends heavily on the
mainland to supply, Chinese Commerce Minister Bo Xilai said here on Monday.
BEIJING, March 12 (Xinhua) -- Bo Xilai, China's Minister
of Commerce, on Monday urged the United States and Europe to slash their
domestic agriculture subsidy in a bid to ensure a successful Doha round of the
World Trade Organization (WTO) talks.
BEIJING, March 12 (Xinhua) -- Chinese Commerce Minister Bo
Xilai on Monday retorted accusations that China's cooperation with Africa is a
practice of "new colonialism", saying the African people will never welcome
colonialists to plunder their resources.
