MADRID, March 6 (Xinhua) -- Spanish international Jose Antonio Reyes followed former England captain David Beckham to be out of Real Madrid's squad after suffering a knee injury in last weekend's Primera Liga match.
The midfielder, who sustained a lateral ligament strain in his left knee during Real's 1-1 draw on Saturday hosting Getafe, would be out for three to four weeks while Beckham was sidelined for more than a month with a more serious strain.
Both players will miss Wednesday's return leg of Real's Champions League last-16 tie against Bayern Munich. Real hold a 3-2 advantage after the first leg in Madrid.
What relieved Real was that Raul, Guti and Emerson came out all fit for the Bayern tie after the trio missed the Getafe game but later recovered from their respective injury problems.
Argentine striker Gonzalo Higuain and Dutch striker Ruud van Nistelrooy also made the squad despite suffering bruising to thigh muscles.
