KABUL,
March 4 (Xinhua) -- Two soldiers of the NATO-led International Security
Assistance Force (ISAF) were killed in southern Afghanistan, an ISAF statement
said on Sunday.
The soldiers were killed on Saturday in combat
operations, it said.
However, the statement did not identify the
nationalities of the killed soldiers. It also did not specify the place of the
incidents.
During a telephone interview with Xinhua, an ISAF
spokesman refused to give any further information about the killings.
Southern provinces particularly Helmand and Kandahar
have been the scenes of increasing insurgency over the past year.
Troops serving in southern Afghanistan are mostly
from Canada, the United States and Britain.
Over a dozen foreign troops, the majority of whom are Americans, have been killed in Afghanistan this year.
