Xinhua launches press center for upcoming NPC, CPPCC sessions

    BEIJING, March 1 (Xinhua) -- Xinhua News Agency on Thursday put into operation its press center for the upcoming annual sessions of the National People's Congress (NPC) and National Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC).

    In more than two weeks, nearly 200 Xinhua journalists will cover the annual "two sessions." Among them, more than 60 will work in the center.

    The press center is located in the Great Hall of the People where the "two sessions" will be held.

    Xinhua will use Chinese, English, French, Russian, Spanish, Arabic and Portuguese to report the important political events. And reports will be made via text, photo, chart, video, Internet and mobile phone short message.

    Some deputies to the NPC and representatives of the CPPCC National Committee will be invited to communicate with netizens online through Xinhuanet.com which also has a live broadcast room in the Great Hall of the People.

    The Fifth Session of the Tenth NPC will open on March 5 and the Fifth Session of the Tenth National Committee of the CPPCC will begin on March 3.
