    BEIJING, March 1 -- Hollywood star Leonardo DiCaprio will star in a new film: a remake of Hong Kong film "Confession of Pain."

    The Hollywood Reporter says that William Monahan, the screenwriter for "The Departed," is writing a script for the new film. The story tells of a former cop who investigates the murder case of his best friend's father-in-law and discovers a series of dark secrets about his friend.

    DiCaprio's company Appian Way will also join in production.

    This is the second time Warner Brothers has bought the rights to a Hong Kong film. "The Departed," a remake of "Infernal Affairs," just won four Oscars on Sunday night, including the award for best picture.

    Apart from taking on a main role, DiCaprio is also expected to be one of the producers.
