PYONGYANG, Feb. 28 (Xinhua) -- The United States and South Korea committed more than 180 cases of aerial espionage against the Democratic People's Republic of Korea (DPRK) in February, reported the official Korean Central News Agency (KCNA) Wednesday.

"This is over 10 cases more than those reported in the same period of last year," said the KCNA, quoting a military source as saying.

The DPRK accused the United States of operating RC-135 military aircraft above Tokjok Islet and areas of Phochon and Sokcho in South Korea to gather photo and electronic intelligence on DPRK targets.

Pyongyang also claimed that the United States and South Korea mobilized a considerable number of strategic and tactical reconnaissance planes to intensively spy on the DPRK's overall territory.
