KABUL, Feb. 26 (Xinhua) -- One policeman was killed and seven people were injured in a suicide bombing in Khost province of eastern Afghanistan on Monday, a local police officer told Xinhua.
"A man was trying to enter a police checkpoint in Pirkali area of Khost city, the provincial capital, in the morning," Wazir Badisha said, "The police found the man suspicious, and a brave policeman jumped toward him to catch him."
The man blew up explosives on his body, killing the policeman and injuring another policeman as well as six civilians, Badisha said.
On Tuesday, a suicide bomber disguised as a doctor blew himself in a hospital in Khost city, injuring seven U.S. soldiers.
Due to Taliban-linked insurgency, over 400 people have been killed in Afghanistan so far this year.
