HONG KONG, Feb. 18 (Xinhua) -- Hong Kong has experienced the warmest
Chinese Lunar New Year which falls on Sunday, with the highest temperature of
the day hitting 25.3 degrees Celsius
The temperature, recorded Sunday afternoon by the Hong Kong Observatory,
broke the previous record set in the lunar new year of 1982, when the highest
temperature stood at 24.6 degrees Celsius.
According to the Hong Kong Observatory, a warm and humid maritime airstream
is affecting the coastal areas of neighboring Guangdong Province. But a cold
front is approaching the area. The associated northeast monsoon will bring
slightly cooler weather to the region on Monday.
