Special report: Six-party talks - 3rd phase of 5th round
BEIJING, Feb. 13 (Xinhua) -- The Democratic People's Republic of Korea (DPRK) and the United States will start bilateral talks on establishing diplomatic relations, according to a joint statement released at the end of the current round of six-party talks.
"The DPRK and the United States will start bilateral talks aimed at resolving pending issues and moving towards full diplomatic relations," the Joint Statement says.
The United States will begin the process of removing the designation of the DPRK as a state-sponsor of terrorism and advance the process of terminating the application of the Trading with the Enemy Act with respect to the DPRK, the Joint Statement says.
The third phase of the fifth round of the six-party talks, which groups China, the DPRK, the United States, the Republic of Korea (ROK), Japan and Russia, concluded in Beijing Tuesday afternoon after six days of hard working.

BEIJING, Feb. 13 (Xinhua) -- The six-party talks on Tuesday ended with a joint statement on the first step toward the denuclearization on the Korean Peninsula.
Under the document, the Democratic People's Republic of Korea(DPRK) will shut down and seal the Yongbyon nuclear facility,including the reprocessing facility and invite back IAEA personnel to conduct all necessary monitoring and verifications.

ROK delegation official: joint document likely to be adpoted Tuesday
BEIJING, Feb. 12 (Xinhua) -- An official with delegation of the Republic of Korea (ROK) to the six-party talks said that a joint document is likely to be adopted on Tuesday.
According to the official, who speaks only on anonymity, the negotiation on the document has "reached the final phase".
