LOS ANGELES, Feb. 11 (Xinhua) -- Sunday night's Grammy Award show proved to be a special 19th birthday party for Robyn Troup, who got to sing on stage at the ceremony with pop idol Justin Timberlake after winning the "My Grammy Moment" online contest.

The Houston native said she just focused on "having fun" while performing "Ain't No Sunshine" and "My Love" with Timberlake and rap singer T.I. during the ceremony at Staples Center in Los Angeles.

"This is the most amazing thing to happen to me," Troup said. "I was so surprised when they called my name, I just kept my game face on the whole time."

Troup said she tried to keep herself from getting emotional when her name was called.

The "My Grammy Moment" contest invited would-be singers across the United States to submit tapes. The tapes were then posted online and viewers cast ballots to narrow the list to three finalists.

The winner was announced during the ceremony -- fittingly by Jennifer Hudson, a former "American Idol" contestant.

By introducing the "My Grammy Moment" episode, the National Academy of Recording Arts and Sciences, which hands out the awards, tried to boost up the show's telecast ratings which have been falling in recent years.

Fox TV's "American Idol" talent show, which airs on Wednesdays, crushed the Grammy show in a ratings head-on last year, prompting the Recording Academy to reschedule its gala show to Sunday this year.
