Iran's supreme leader says to hit U.S. global targets if attacked

    TEHRAN, Feb. 8 (Xinhua) -- Iranian Supreme Leader Ayatollah AliKhamenei warned Thursday that his country would hit back at U.S. targets all over the world if attacked by the United States, the state-run television reported.

Iranian forces test-fire new anti-aircraft missiles

    TEHRAN, Feb. 7 (Xinhua) -- Iran's Revolutionary Guards test-fired a new surface-to-air missile defense system imported from Russia on Wednesday, the first day of an ongoing two-day drills, the local ISNA news agency reported.

    The report quoted Hossein Salami, a Revolutionary Guards commander, as saying that "Iranian Revolutionary Guards defense doctrine was based on the military strategy of deterrence, and we have test-fired the new modern of Tor-M1 air defense missile systems within that framework." Full Story

Iran stages new round of military maneuvers

    TEHRAN, Feb. 7 (Xinhua) -- Missile units of the air and naval forces of Iran's Revolutionary Guards launched a two-day drill on Wednesday, the state media reported.

    The war games will be conducted in southern and central parts of the Gulf and the Sea of Oman, the official IRNA news agency said.
