Blast at Islamabad airport kills bomber, injures 3

    ISLAMABAD, Feb. 6 (Xinhua) -- A suspected suicide attacker Tuesday evening blew himself up and injured three security guards who tried to stop him from entering the VIP parking area of the Islamabad International airport.

    According to police officer Syed Marwat Shah, police tried to stop the bomber who attempted to force into the VIP parking section.

    The attacker opened fire and police returned fire, Shah said. During the firing, a grenade with the attacker fell down and exploded, killing the attacker and injuring one police man and two guards.

    On Jan. 26, a suicide bomber attacked a five-star hotel in the Pakistani capital of Islamabad, killing two persons including himself and injured seven others.
