BAGHDAD, Feb. 3 (Xinhua) -- The death toll rose again to about 30 in a truck bomb went off at the Sadriyah busy market of in central Baghdad on Saturday, an Interior Ministry source told Xinhua.
The source also said that more than 60 others wounded during the truck bomb.
The attack took place in the Sadriyah food market, one of the old popular markets in Baghdad on the east bank of Tigris river, when a truck bomb loaded with food detonated in the busy area, the source said on condition of anonymity.
The blast occurred shortly before 4:00 p.m. (1300 GMT) as the market was crowded with people buying food for their evening meal,the source said.
The Earlier report said that ten people were killed and some 50others wounded in the truck bomb.
The powerful blast sent plumes of black smoke into the air and emergency vehicles rushed the wounded to local hospitals.
The area has witnessed a number of large bombings in recent months.
