ISLAMABAD, Feb. 2 (Xinhua) -- Pakistani President General Pervez Musharraf will visit Iran next week for talks on Middle East and regional security, it was official announced here on Friday.
He will exchange views with the leadership of the two countries on the Middle East situation, particularly the Palestine problem, Iraq and other challenges confronting the Muslim world, Pakistani Foreign Ministry said in a statement.
President Musharraf has recently visited Indonesia and Malaysia after visiting five Middle Eastern countries.
The coming visit to Iran and Turkey was a continuation of his discussions and consolations on Middle East situation, according to the statement.
The president has said that the leaders of Indonesia and Malaysia shared his concern over the situation in Palestine and the Middle East and expressed full support for launching a strong new initiative on the Middle East, the statement said.
