"Pirates" breaks another box office record
BEIJING, July 26 -- "Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Man's Chest" has broken the $300m barrier at the US box office quicker than any other movie.
The sequel, which stars Johnny Depp, Keira Knightley and Orlando Bloom, has taken a staggering $321.7m after a mere three weeks on release.

BEIJING, July 18 -- "Pirates of the Caribbean 2" is looking more like "Treasure Island."
Already a record-shattering blockbuster, Johnny Depp's sequel "Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Man's Chest" dug up 62.2 million U.S. dollars in the United States in its second weekend, raising its 10-day total to 258.2 million dollars, according to studio estimates Sunday.
The movie has quickly become the year's top-grossing film, rocketing past "X-Men: The Last Stand," which has taken in 232 million dollars in eight weeks. The "Pirates" sequel has grossed an additional 125 million dollars overseas.
