BEIJING, Jan. 31 (Xinhuanet) -- Harry Potter star
Daniel Radcliffe will go from riding a broomstick to riding a horse naked in his
London stage debut, according to media reports Wednesday.
The 17-year-old actor is set to play stable boy Alan
Strang in award-winning playwright Peter Shaffer's controversial play "Equus."
"This is an extraordinary play," Radcliffe's
publicist Vanessa Davies said, "and, yes, there is a scene of nudity in it, but
that's not what the play is about."
Pictures of a shirtless Daniel Radcliffe that are
being used to promote his new play are causing controversy among fans of the
"Harry Potter" movies.
The young star peels off clothes in the promotional
photos for "Equus." He reportedly will also appear naked and have a sex scene in
the play.
The pictures have already become popular among young
female fans of Daniel Radcliffe.
But parents are up in arms and are bombarding "Harry
Potter" fansites with emails.
The play opens in London on Feb. 27.
