Northeast China, Jan. 29 (Xinhua) -- Jung Eun Ju of South Korea upset triple
Turin Olympic champion and compatriot Jin Sun Yu and Chinese Wang Meng to lift
the 1,500m short track speedskating title at the Asian Winter Games here on
Monday.
Jung seized the hotly-competed event in two minutes
24.089 seconds, beating teammate Jin to the second place.
Jin, women's 1,000m, 1,500m and 3,000m relay winner
at the Turin Olympics last year, had to settle for the silver in 2:24.124.
China's gold hopeful Wang was promoted from fourth to
third when South Korean Byun Chun Sa was disqualified for pushing.
Wang, 500m champion in Turin, took bronze in 2:24.408.
