BEIJING, Jan. 29 (Xinhua) -- James Bond is at last to make his official debut in China with "Casino Royale" scheduled to hit screens nationwide on Jan. 30.
"Casino Royale" is the first of the 21 Bond films, which stretch back nearly 45 years, to win authorization to screen in China.
The new Bond Daniel Craig and ravishing Bond girl Eva Green along with director Martin Campbell will attend premieres in Beijing on Monday and Shanghai on Tuesday.
The movie tells the story of how James Bond manages to prevent a banker working for terrorist organizations from winning a high-stakes tournament at Casino Royale.
The movie is reported to have already taken in over 500 million U.S. dollars at the box office, making it the top-grossing Bond film of all time.
It won approval from China's State Administration of Radio, Film, and TV (SARFT) late last year with no cuts requested by the administration.
