JILIN, Northeast China, Jan. 27 (Xinhua) -- Chinese skiers are set to rule the roost in freestyle skiing at the coming 6th Asian Winter Games with snow events to be staged here on Jan. 28-Feb. 4.
Olympic champion Han Xiaopeng and silver medallist Li Nina are to spearhead the China's freestyle team for their gold rush.
"China freestyle aerial skiers are almost invincible in Asia, and the Asian Winter Games is more like a training session than a competitive race," said Rao Gang, manager of the China's freestyle skiing team on Saturday.
China fielded an 8-athlete squad for the tournament, with Han and Li as the best-known stars on snow.
"Chinese girls are so strong that they even could sweep the medals of any color, while in men's events China will be possibly threatened by a couple of Japanese athletes.
"We will make use of the chance to improve tactically and mentally, with the focus on stability. We have been looking forward to the Vancouver Winter Olympics in 2010." added Rao.
