MADRID, Jan. 27 (Xinhua) -- David Beckham could play for Real Madrid again after manager Fabio Capello changed his previous tone of barring the midfielder from play at the club on Friday.
Capello said the former England captain would feature in the Madrid squad if he was fully fit and if his attitude was right.
"I can only select players that have trained and he hasn't trained (Friday) because of a knee problem," Capello said.
"I don't have any friends or enemies in the squad, I just select the best players that are available for each game. As with all the other players it will depend a lot on his physical condition."
Capello said Beckham would never play for Madrid again after the 31-year-old midfielder signed a five-year deal worth more than 250 million US dollars (193 million euro) with Major League Soccer's Los Angeles Galaxy on Jan. 11.
"People can make mistakes," Capello said about his initial stance. When I see that he is in good shape and has a good attitude then he can form part of the team, but he has to show it.
Beckham was left out of the squad for Madrid's league match against Villarreal on Saturday due to a knee injury, Capello said.
He also missed last weekend's 1-0 league win over Mallorca due to a left thigh strain.
