Anaceleto Medina places a freshly-cast Oscar statuette, being manufactured for the 79th Academy Awards, on his work bench at the R.S. Owens factory in Chicago January 18, 2007. The company will manufacture 55-60 Oscars using a 15-step process. The finished statuettes are made of a metal Britannia pewter alloy and are plated with copper, nickel, silver and 24-carat gold. The factory has manufactured these statuettes for the past 24 years, and will be presented during the awards show in Hollywood February 25, 2007.
