KUWAIT CITY, Jan. 17 (Xinhua) -- U.S. Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice wrapped up her Middle East tour and left here Wednesday for Germany.
Rice concluded the tour by meeting with foreign ministers from the six Gulf Cooperation Council member states plus Egypt and Jordan, who urged in a final communique that the Iraqi government would actively engage all Iraqis in a manner that ensures inclusiveness and paves the way for the success of national reconciliation.
The meeting focus on the Iraqi file and Iran's controversial nuclear program, while the Arab foreign ministers voiced support to a commitment by the United States to defending integrity of Iraq and security in the Gulf region.
Rice arrived in Israel on Saturday and started her Middle East regional tour aimed at rallying Arab support for the U.S. administration's new strategy in Iraq.
In a press conference in Kuwait on Tuesday, Rice warned that there would still be violence in Iraq, "even with the new security plan, the will and the capability of the Iraqi government, and reinforced U.S. forces."
