BEIJING, Jan, 17 (Xinhua) -- The Chinese mainland
will continue its efforts to expand exchanges across the Taiwan Straits in 2007,
a mainland spokesman said here Wednesday.
"We hope the new breakthroughs will be made in mainland
residents traveling in Taiwan and in realizing the three direct links --
mail, trade and transport services -- across the Taiwan Straits," said Yang Yi,
spokesman for the Taiwan Affairs Office of the State Council.
