CEBU, Philippines, Jan. 14 (Xinhua) -- Chinese
Premier Wen Jiabao met with Indian Prime Minister Manmohan Singh on Sunday in
the Philippines' Cebu, exchanging views on bilateral ties and international and
regional issues of common concern.
The meeting took place on the sidelines of 2nd East Asia Summit,scheduled here next Monday.
Sino-Indian relations have maintained sound momentum
of all-round development in recent years. The two countries have agreed to
establish strategic and cooperative partnership. Bilateral trade volume reached
18.7 billion U.S. dollars in 2005, a 37.5 percent increase over 2004. Chinese
President Hu Jintao also paid a state visit to India in November 2006.
The Chinese premier arrived in Cebu on Saturday to
attend a series of summits. He will also pay an official visit to the
Philippines. It was the fourth time for Wen to attend such ASEAN-related summits
since 2003.
