SINGAPORE, Jan. 12 (Xinhua) -- Singapore's Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong left here Friday for Cebu, the Philippines, to attend the 12th Summit of the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN), according to the Foreign Ministry.
He is accompanied by the Minister for Foreign Affairs George Yeo, Minister for Trade and Industry Lim Hng Kiang and some other senior officials.
In addition to the meetings of the ASEAN Leaders, Lee will also participate in the ASEAN-Plus-Three and ASEAN-Plus-One Summits, which include leaders from China, Japan and the Republic of Korea.
There will also be the second East Asia Summit which includes all the ASEAN Leaders and their counterparts from Australia, China,India, Japan, South Korea and New Zealand.
He together with other ASEAN leaders will also meet the Eminent Persons Group who will present their report and recommendations on the drafting of the ASEAN Charter.
The four-day summit, beginning on Friday, was originally scheduled for last December but delayed by the host country for fear of storm attacks.
