PHNOM PENH, Jan. 12 (Xinhua) -- Cambodian Prime Minister Hun Sen left here on Friday morning for Cebu, Philippines, to attend the serial ASEAN summits, which are scheduled to be held on Jan. 12-15, according to official sources.
At the invitation of Philippine President Gloria Arroyo, Hun Sen led a high-level delegation to participate in the 12th ASEAN (the Association of Southeast Asia Nations) Summit, the 10th ASEAN+3 Summit, the 10th ASEAN+1 Summit with China, Japan and South Korea, the 5th ASEAN+India Summit and the 2nd East Asia Summit, according to a statement released earlier from Ministry of ForeignAffairs and International Cooperation.
On the sidelines of the above summits, Hun Sen will also attend the 3rd CLMV Summit with the leaders of Laos, Myanmar and Vietnam, it said.
The summits were originally scheduled in December 2006 but delayed by the host country for fear of storm attacks.
ASEAN comprises Brunei, Cambodia, Indonesia, Laos, Malaysia, Myanmar, the Philippines, Singapore, Thailand and Vietnam.
