JAKARTA, Jan. 11 (Xinhua) -- Indonesian President Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono will cut short his visit to Cebu, the Philippines, due to a number of domestic situations and as a result he will skip the 16-nation East Asia summit to be held on Jan. 15.

He would only attend the Association of Southeast Asian Nations(ASEAN) Summit on Saturday, major national newspaper The Jakarta Post reported Thursday.

As per a draft of his visit schedule, Yudhoyono will arrive at Cebu at 11 a.m. on Friday and return to Jakarta on Sunday morning.

"We currently have many domestic problems that need the President's full attention. The current ferry and plane accidents, as well as possible natural disasters, need to be addressed," Indonesian Ambassador to the Philippines Irsan Tanjung was quoted as saying.

It is not yet clear whether Foreign Minister Hassan Wirayuda or Coordinating Minister for the Economy Budiono will represent Yudhoyono during the summit.
