ANKARA, Jan. 9 (Xinhua) -- Thirty-two people were
killed and two others injured on Tuesday when a cargo plane, carrying Turkish
workers, crashed while it was trying to land at Baghdad's Alasad Airport,
Turkey's state-run TRT reported.
The semi-official Anatolia news agency said that the
plane, belonging to a Moldovan company, was on its way from Adana province in
southern Turkey to Iraq.
Adana Deputy Governor Abdullah Dolek was quoted as
saying that the Antanov type cargo plane was carrying five crew members and
30passengers.
Dolek said there were foreigners among the passengers
Meanwhile, two crisis desks were established in Adana Governor's Office and
Adana Airport after the plane crashed in Baghdad, according to Anatolia.
Adana Governor Cahit Kirac said that the crisis desks
aimed to follow the latest developments of the event, and they were continuously
in contact with Prime Ministry Crisis Desk and the Turkish Embassy in Baghdad.
Earlier, the Turkish Foreign Ministry said that 30
people were killed and two injured in the plane crash.
