AMMAN, Jan. 9 (Xinhua) -- A terrorist from al-Qaeda was killed on Tuesday in Irbid governorate in northern Jordan and another was arrested by the Jordanian Intelligence Department and the Public Security Department.
According to an official source from the Jordanian Public Security Department, the two terrorists stayed in a house and initiated fire at the police force when they raided the house and tried to arrest the terrorists.
The raid on the house took place after following up news on al-Qaeda plans to launch attacks in Jordan, the source was quoted by Jordan's news agency Petra as saying.
The killed terrorist, Suleiman khiad al-Anjadi, holds a temporary Jordanian passport while the arrested one, Ramadan Mustafa al-Mansi, holds a Jordanian passport.
A number of policemen were slightly injured, Petra reported.
