BANGKOK, Jan. 1 (Xinhua) -- Three more bomb blasts hit downtown Bangkok just after midnight, injuring at least seven persons, including several foreigners, police said early Monday.

The first two bombs went off almost at the same time near the World Trade Center and Gaysorn Plaza, one of the most visited shopping areas by foreign tourists in Bangkok.

One of the bombs was planted at a public telephone booth, while another at roadside near a restaurant, the police said.

The third bomb exploded on Khao Sarn Road near the Grand Palace, the popular tourist site in central Bangkok.

The seven persons were injured in the explosions and rushed to hospitals, Thai ITV station reported.

Police said they were not sure whether more bombs were planted in elsewhere.

The latest bombings just after midnight followed a series of bombings in the country's capital early Sunday night that cut off celebrations and killed two people, injured some 40 others.
