ROME, Dec. 28 (Xinhua) -- Argentine defender Leandro Grimi arrived in Milan on Thursday to talk with AC Milan over a possible January transfer to the Italian club.
The 21-year-old plays in Argentina for Racing Avellaneda and is posed to complete a two million euros (2.64 million dollars) transfer to Milan and eventually replace his idol Paolo Maldini.
"Maldini is my role model and I hope to be like him one day," Grimi told Sky Italia after landing at Malpensa airport.
"I am a left-sided defender who loves to attack, and God willing I will be the new Maldini."
38-year-old Maldini has been in Milan for 23 seasons and is likely to retire at the end of the season.
