STOCKHOLM, Dec. 27 (Xinhua) -- The Norwegian government has allocated 6 million Norwegian krone (about 960,000 US dollars) in relief aid to the victims of the severe floods in Indonesia in the past week, just two years after the Tsunami disaster, according to reports reaching here from Oslo on Wednesday.

"It is tragic that the people of the Aceh region have again been hit by a natural disaster. Even though the destruction is less than from the Tsunami, there is still a great need for international support," said Norwegian Minister of International Development Erik Solheim, quoted by Norwegian Broadcasting Corporation.

Norway has therefore allocated 5 million Norwegian krone to the UN and NGOs, and 1 million Norwegian krone as Norway's share from the UN Relief Fund, the minister said.
