UNITED NATIONS, Dec. 23 (Xinhua) -- Russia is ready to support the resolution which the UN Security Council is scheduled to vote on Saturday, imposing sanctions on Iran over its unyielding nuclear program.

    A UN diplomat told Xinhua on condition of anonymity that Russia expressed its support to the resolution drafted by Britain, France and Germany in a closed meeting of six key players including the United States, Russia, China, and the three European countries Saturday morning.¡¡
