MOSCOW, Dec. 20 (Xinhua) -- Russia will do its best to ensure next year's "Year of China" in Russia is as successful as the "Year of Russia" in China was, Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov said on Wednesday.

    Thanks to "impeccable organization and the assistance of our Chinese friends, the Year of Russia in China was immensely successful," Lavrov told a Moscow press conference.

    In response, the Russian government will do its best to assist the Chinese people to stage in Russia next year, Lavrov said.

    Last year, Chinese and Russian leaders announced plans to hold the events aimed at boosting the strategic partnership between the two countries.

    During the Year of Russia in China, which was launched in March this year, more than 250 events have been held in the trade, investment and cultural fields, highlighting the level and scope of cooperation between Russia and China, according to the foreign minister.
