Uzbekistan lift title in women's K1 500m

    DOHA, Dec. 14 (Xinhua) -- China's world champion Zhong Hongyan's title defending attempt was denied as Uzbekistan's Yulia Borzovawalked away with the gold in the women's K1 500m of canoe and kayak competition at the Asian Games here on Thursday.

    The Uzbekistan duo completed the race in 1 minute and 58.444 seconds. The silver medal went to Zhong in 2:01.608 while Natalya Sergeyeva of Kazakhstan took the bronze in 2:02.824.
