    DOHA, Dec. 14 (Xinhua) -- China's Liu Haitao doubled his gold count by winning the gold medal in the men's K1 500m of canoe and kayak competition at the Asian Games here on Thursday.

    Liu, gold medalist in the men's K1 1,000m, finished in one minute and 48.571 seconds, followed by Uzbekistan's Sergey Borzov in 1:49.427.

    Borzov led the first 250m in 51.78 but could not withstand the challenge from Liu.

    The bronze medal went to Alexandr Yemelyanov of Kazakhstan in 1:49.867.
