    BAGHDAD, Dec. 14 (Xinhua) -- Gunmen wearing police commando uniforms kidnapped between 20 and 30 people randomly from the commercial area of Sinak in central Baghdad on Thursday, an Interior Ministry source told Xinhua.

    The gunmen were using some 14 vehicle, including sport utility vehicles, used by Iraqi police commando, kidnapping between 20 and 30 people from the Sinak whole sale market for car spare parts,"the source said on condition of anonymity.

    Dozens of people could be seen running away from the scene for their safety, he said.

    Asked whether there were any police patrol at the area, he said,"there was but who could do anything."

    On Nov. 14, gunmen wearing Iraqi police commando uniform stormed the Iraqi Higher Education Ministry's Research Directorate building in the Nidhal Street in Karradah district, kidnapping more than 100 male employees.

    Most of them were released but many others were either found killed or still missing.
