China to play Qatar for men's
basketball title at Doha Asiad
DOHA, Dec. 13 (Xinhua) -- China and Qatar will meet
in the men's basketball final after they stunned Jordan and Iran respectively in
the semifinals of the Doha Asian Games here on Wednesday. China enjoyed a
comfortable win over Jordan on 86-58, while Qatar fought for a 67-64 semifinal
victory.
China stuns boxing ring with two golds
at Doha Asiad
DOHA, Dec. 13 (Xinhua) -- Chinese boxers Zou Shiming
and Hu Qing overpowered their opponents respectively in the last-day boxing
finals, awarding China two golds from the ring at the Doha Asiad here on
Wednesday. Zou Shiming, the Chinese world champion, won the 48kg category for
the first ever boxing gold medal for China in 16 years since the Beijing Asian
Games.
China beats Jordan for Asiad men's

DOHA, Dec. 13 (Xinhua) -- Wang Zhizhi scored
team-high 20 points to help China breeze past Jordan 86-58 against a sluggish
start to reach the final of the Doha Asian Games men's basketball tournament
here on Wednesday. Wang also dished out two rebounds and three blocks. NBA
prospect Yi Jianlian scored 17 points and pulled down 10 rebounds while Mo Ke
and Zhu Fangyu contributed 13 and 12 points respectively.
DPR Korea defeats Japan to win women's
soccer gold at Doha Asiad
DOHA, Dec. 13 (Xinhua) -- DPR Korea beat Japan 4-2 in
the penalty shoot-out after a scoreless regular and overtime to win the gold
medal of the women's soccer tournament at the Doha Asian Games here on
Wednesday.
Singapore, China grab most sailing
golds at Doha Asiad
DOHA, Dec. 13 (Xinhua) -- Singapore took five out of
14 gold medals in the sailing competition of the 15th Asian Games at Doha,
ranking first in the medal standings of the sport. On Wednesday, Singapore's
sailors placed first in the men's 420class, the women's 420 class and the match
racing of Beneteau First Class 7.5 event after the final races.
China continues one-two finish in
diving at Doha Asiad
DOHA, Dec. 13 (Xinhua) -- China continued its
unbeaten streak on the day four of diving competition by winning both the men's
and women's 3m springboard titles at the 15th Asian Games here on Wednesday. Wu
Minxia and He Zi, winner and silver medalist in the women's 1m springboard on
Dec. 12, repeated the feat by winning in 371.85 and 366.90 points respectively.
