DOHA, Dec. 13 (Xinhua) -- Guo Shuang of China demonstrated her domination on the women's cycling track after winning her second gold at the 15th Asian Games here on Wednesday.

    Tipped as a gold medal hopeful in 2008 Olympic Games, the 20-year old edged her teammate Gong Jinjie to win the women's sprint title in the cycling tournament.

    "We did not know each other well. I have been training abroad for the past five years. I am happy to see we collect both the gold and silver medals for our country," said Guo.

    Guo showed her world-class caliber, superior power and track awareness to beat South Korean You Jin A 2-0 and set up her chance of the second gold to add to her 500 meters individual time trial.

    "South Koreans are good at speed, but the racing also need skills and tactics, I did well in the semi-finals," added Guo.

    Under the guidance of her French coach Sebastien Dulcus, Guo made significant progress in the past two years, collecting two national titles in half a year, and winning two gold medals in international competitions.

    "I have been training Guo Shuang in Switzerland in the past four months and I know her tactics well. She is such a talented girl, and an expert in sprinting," said her coach Dulcus.

    "Winning a medal for the motherland is every cyclist's dream. Iam young, and I think I still have some room to improve in this sport," added Guo.

    You Jin A of South Korea finished third after beating Hsiao MeiYu of Chinese Taipei.

    In the men's edition, Kitatsuru Tsubasa of Japan edged South Korean Choi Lae Seon to take the gold.

    "He is young and full of energy, I really concentrated on the track and changed speed to follow my tactics," said Kitatsuru Tsubasa.

    Chinese Tang Qi took the bronze after beating Malaysia's JosiahNg Onn Lam 2-0.

    "Josiah is a world champion. Beating him was not an easy thing." said Tong Qi.

    Early on Wednesday, Cheung King Wai grabbed the six gold medal for Hong Kong, China after winning men's points race.

    "In the first 40 laps, I reserved my energy, and just kept pace with other cyclists. My strategy worked well," said Cheung.

    Cheung collected 22 points through the 160 laps course, beating defending champion South Korean Joo Hyun Wook in the 9th lap.

    "I am really happy to follow Wong Kam Po's road to win a gold for Hong Kong. He supported me a lot," added Cheung.

    The silver medal was taken by Vladimir Tuychiev of Uzbekistan. The bronze medal went to Ilya Chernyshov of Kazakhstan.

    Joo Hyun Wook only finished fifth with 8 points.
