DOHA, Dec. 8 (Xinhua) -- Following is a list of ten interesting numbers of
the upcoming cycling track competition at the 15th Asian Games in Doha on
Friday.
1 is the number of gold medals in women's events not won by superpower
China.
2 is the maximum number of riders allowed to compete per NOC (national
organizing committee) in individual events.
3 is the number of consecutive gold medals won by Vadim Kravtchenko of
Kazakhstan in the men's 4km individual pursuit between 1994 and 2002.
4 is the number of kilometers covered in the men's pursuit events (team and
individual).
5 is the number that Japan have won in the men's events and the number that
China have won in the men's events.
6 is the number of medals won by Preeda Chullamenhol of Thailand in 1966,
the most by any rider in a single edition.
7 is the number of medals won by Vadkim Kravtchenko of Kazakhstan between
1994 and 2002, which is more than other riders.
8 is the number of different NOCs that have won a cycling track gold medal.
They are China, Japan, South Korea, Thailand, Kazakhstan, Iran, Chinese Taipei,
Malaysia.
9 is the number of medals (two silver, seven bronze) won by the Philippines
in all events, more than any other NOCs still waiting for their first gold.
10 is the number different cycling track disciplines at Doha 2006.
The cycling track competition will be held from December 9 to 14.
